    There was an announcement.

The move has finished, it may take time for some members to pick up the DNS change.

    Errrr

Did anyone think to warn the CableHell refugees what was happening to-night. Seeing their forum go down twice in 24 hours may be a tad disconoberating.

is the move back going to effect the DNS entry, again?

    - any direct IP you can share if that is the case?

    Re: Errrr

I doubt if they will have seen the downtime thread as they were to concerned about what had happened. I was going to put a link on the CableHell thread but got distracted.

The direct IP wont really help, there is no site there atm ....

The DNS only takes a couple of hours, and has already been changed, you may even pick the change up before the site finishes moving.

the relationship between a site name and its IP address on the internet - each site has a 'record' on the DNS server being used, which may be local or external.

Changing a sites domain details may trigger a need to have the name cascaded over the worldwide DNS - that often results in a delay resolving the site name to the IP address that will be allocated when the update has happened.
